When John Carlson isn’t raising money for St. Jude, posting photos of his adorable child, or assisting on Alex Ovechkin’s power play goals, he’s a steady defenseman who shows little emotion on the ice.
That’s why when he gets mad, it’s a revelation, which happened Saturday against the New Jersey Devils. At the end of the second period, Carlson mocked Sergei Kalinin.
As Devils forward Stephen Gionta drove hard to the net, Kalinin dug for a rebound and took an extra whack or two at Braden Holtby. That’s when boys will be boys and the Caps and Devils scrummed near the crease.
Eventually things settled down, but not before Carlson’s rage-o-meter went to 11 as he began mocking Kalinin.
Yeah, we’re going to need to zoom.
That’s the stuff.
Don’t get me wrong, I like John Carlson, but I looooooooove Angry John.
