Thursday night in the Caps’ (unnecessarily) thrilling 4-3 win over the Minnesota Wild, Alex Ovechkin scored his 14th career hat trick. With the goals, Ovechkin became the new league leader (34) in the category, passing some guy. He also moved into sole possession of 39th place on the all-time goals list (509 goals), leap-frogging one of the greatest players of all-time, Jean Beliveau.
After the game, Ovechkin was congratulated online by fellow rapper Lil Wayne. (Wait, what? Is this a typo?)
Lil Wayne AKA Young Tunechi, AKA Lil Weezy, AKA President Carter writes:
Kongrats to my homie Alex Ovechkin! Leading the NHL in hat trix!! Just a beast onna ice!

Now here’s where I’m going to blow your mind. Ovechkin has actually hung out with Lil Wayne (and Drake) before. Back in 2011, the two artists took photos and met with entire Capitals team after a concert.
Yes. These photos are my everything.
