We’ve said this before, but Braden Holtby is really good (even when he’s not actually playing in an actual hockey game). Against the Islanders on Thursday night, Holtby was tremendous, stopping 24 of 26 shots. His best save came in the third period on John Tavares, but we didn’t notice until NBCSN showed a slo-mo replay.
The play in question looked like a ho-hum walk in the park.
And here’s the replay. Holtby deflects the bouncing puck with the toe of his pad, and then tips it with his glove away from the net.
Let’s just zoom in and slow down the slo-mo to really appreciate this save.
I mean… That was… He’s so…
Braden, please never leave us.
