PING! Capitals Hit the Post Twice in Four Seconds (Video)

I’m a big fan of physics and wacky hockey plays, hence I bring you the below video. Last night, in a span of four seconds, the Washington Capitals hit the post twice on consecutive shots.

First, Alex Ovechkin hit the crossbar, beating Sabres goaltender Linus Ullmark clean. Then Matt Niskanen gathered the rebound along the boards and unleashed a shot that clanged off the post.

CSN Washington’s quick-witted Joe Beninati reacted by saying, “someone check Linus Ullmark for a horseshoe.”

Ovechkin is familiar with the sensation. One year ago, he personally hit the post on consecutive plays at the Winter Classic.

The Caps hung on to win 2-0 without either shot going in. But what a wild play.
