On the same goal, Caps forward Jason Chimera put the Habs away and reached the twenty-point plateau for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
After a set play off a breakout, Tom Wilson redirected a Nate Schmidt pass to a streaking Chimera. The Ice Cheetah put on his jets and beat Mike Condon on the breakaway.
How did Chimera celebrate? By jumping into the glass like Alex Ovechkin.
And then he went down the high-five line going approximately 55 MPH.
That was Chimera’s 10th goal of the season. The goal pushed him past last season’s point total in 43 less games.
Tom Wilson said Montreal's bench called Jason Chimera old, which might have fired him up.

Wilson on Chimera: "I think he kind of went by their bench and said, ‘Who’s old now?’"
