It’s the holiday season, so the Capitals decided to give us a gift: more photos of their new third jersey! Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom modeled the full getup, which includes the new helmet, pants, and socks. It looks great.
The Caps as a team will first wear the new gear next Wednesday against the Ottawa Senators at Verizon Center.
The full schedule is here.
Great modeling, guys.
More detail about the jerseys from the Caps:
The Washington Capitals will wear their new third jersey, modeled after the team’s original red jersey, for 15 select home games during the 2015-16 season. The primary color for the uniform is red and closely resembles the team’s jersey worn from 1974-75 through 1994-95.
The original Capitals wordmark is featured on the front of the jersey with six stars above it and five stars beneath the numbers on each sleeve. The Capitals will wear blue pants and red helmets with their third jerseys. The new third jersey will replace the white third jersey the Capitals wore from 2011-12 to 2014-15.
Have any of you bought the new jersey? If you have, upload your photos below!
