TJ Oshie scored his seventh goal of the season and it was redonkulous. It comes on the same day his wife announced the couple was expecting their second child.
After receiving a pass from Nicklas Backstrom in the offensive zone, Oshie takes a pedestrian shot from the perimeter. But Habs goaltender Mike Condon can’t corral it. The flubber puck flies a mile into the air before deflecting off Andrei Markov’s stick and Condon’s arm into the Habs net.
It’s Oshie’s second goal in three games.
“I tried to fire it,” Oshie said to Craig Laughlin during the second intermission. “Luckily it didn’t get blocked. I probably should have scored one earlier on the backhand. Sometimes you need em’ to find a way to go in.”
Third period update: Oshie just gave the Caps a 3-2 lead with this beautiful deflection in front of the net.
