Tom Wilson just scored an unlikely, beautiful goal in front of family and friends at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. It ends a personal goalless streak of 37 games. It was Wilson’s first goal since March 3 2015 of last season.
As Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly turns the puck over literally right in front of the net, Wilson spins and puts the puck through Jonathan Bernier’s five hole.
It was kind of ugly, but whatever dude.
The first person to greet a celebrating Wilson on the ice was Alex Ovechkin, who gave Wilson an upside down hug.
Wilson geeked on the bench.
Welcome back to the score column, Willy Baby!
