Washington Capitals top-line forward TJ Oshie scored his first goal in over two weeks (November 12 vs Flyers) and his first power-play goal since October 17 against Carolina. The tally came on a power play during the third period of the Caps-Lightning game.
It was a perfect snipe.
As Nicklas Backstrom gained the offensive zone, the Swede hit Oshie with a cross-ice pass. Oshie gathered the puck and released a quick wrist shot that eluded Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy to the top corner of the net.
The goal was impressive, and so was this celly.
A few minutes earlier in the period, the diminutive Oshie crushed 6’6” defenseman Victor Hedman into the boards.
Oshie finished the night with an insane eight hits and two shots in 16:35 of ice time. He has earned a point in three of his last five games (November 19- November 27: 1g, 2a).
