It’s a dreary Thursday afternoon, but your hearts should be singing. The Schmidtuation: Nate Schmidt is penciled in to play with John Carlson tonight on the TOP FREAKING PAIR while Brooks Orpik is listed as a game-time decision.
Here’s to a speedy recovery for Brooks. Being excited about the Schmidtuation is not the same as celebrating an injury.
The Flyers are off to an uneven start under new head coach Dave Hakstol. Somehow, Jacub Voracek doesn’t have a goal yet, so cross all your fingers and toes whenever he touches the puck tonight. He’s due to score in bunches once the drought is over.
The game starts at 7 PM on CSN.

Storylines
- Get your RMNB ugly holiday sweater.
- Please go vote for RMNB in the Best of Frederick awards. Or the BOFA, as I like to call them.
- Vroom, Vroom. Ready to cheer on an RMNB-sponsored race car this weekend?
- Andrew Gordon wrote a really interesting piece on why he left the NHL for Europe.
- Karl Alzner: Rocks a fancy stache but not into the fancy stats.
- Maybe Andre Burakovsky is tanking early in the season so he can create a revival of his season and drop a “forgot about Dre” quote on the reg.
- The NHL’s stats, powered by SAP, are almost certainly a sham:
SAP/@NHL continue to randomly generate numbers. These aren't even close. Total garbage. pic.twitter.com/ZBlIp4yPGK

Deez Did you go vote yet? Seriously, an RMNB win of the BOFA is a win for all of us.
