The war of words between a pair of one-time Washington Capitals Young Guns is escalating ahead of tonight’s matchup between the Caps and the Detroit Red Wings.
Yesterday, Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin told reporters he was “probably gonna slash” former Caps and current Red Wings defenseman Mike Green‘s beloved Easton Stealth CNT sticks. During his tenure with the Caps, fans rallied to supply Green with the discontinued twigs.
Today, Green responded to Ovi’s threat with a laugh. “I don’t know, I’ve got a few,” Green said. “If he can catch me.”
Sounds like a challenge to me.
