Brooks Laich, who has quietly been one of the Caps’ most productive players this season, finally scored his first goal of the season. He deflected a Dmitry Orlov shot past Tuukka Rask with the back of his calf.

Laich celebrated as he got cleaned out in front of the net. It was ridiculous.
Laich was owed some good luck. Before tonight he had taken 16 shots and been a part of 34 scoring chances without seeing the back of the net. The PDO Gods finally rewarded him tonight.
