How to beat Lundqvist, right there
Just scant moments after getting speared in the li’l Ovis by Marc Staal, Alex Ovechkin got revenge the best way possible: SCOAR. And to my own personal delight, the primary assist on the Ovechkin’s goal belonged to smile-expert Nate Schmidt.
Ovechkin himself drove the puck up the ice then hit up Schmidt in the offensive zone. Schmidt took it from there.
He had a step on the Rangers defenseman, who seemed to know what a mess he was in. The defenseman dove (dived? dave?), so all Schmidt had to do was thread a backhand pass to Ovechkin, who was crashing the net.
Hugs ensued.
That’s Ovechkin’s sixth goal of the year and Nate’s first assist of the year. And now I want them to score all the goals together.
