The cure for anything that may be currently ailing you: It’s Saturday and Nick Backstrom is returning to the Caps lineup.

The Hurricanes are in town. They’ve played pretty well this season, but have had mediocre luck and terrible goaltending. Let’s hope tonight is not the night that the PDO gods decide to smile upon them.

Game time is 7 PM and ya crew at CSN has the coverage.

Team Record Possession PDO Power Play Penalty Kill
    Washington Capitals 2-1-0 48.6% 102.8 27.3% 77.8%
    Carolina Hurricanes 1-3-0 56.8% 93 12.5% 88.9%

    Projected Lineup

    Per Katie Brown of NHL.com

    Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Oshie
    Johansson – Backstrom – Williams
    Chimera – Beagle – Wilson
    Laich – Stephenson – Burakovsky

    Orpik – Carlson
    Alzner – Niskanen
    Chorney – Orlov

    Holtby

    Pregame Song of the Day

This is the song that was in my head when I woke up.

    Storylines

    • The first line sure is clicking, so Backstrom returns on the second line. If both of these lines click, the Caps top-six will be #elite.
    • Burakovsky moves back to the wing, on the fourth line. It’s only been three games, but he’s looked a little off so far. Hopefully the move back to the wing helps him.
    • The Schmidtuation appears unchanged at the moment. Deep breaths, everyone. It’s early, so a Code Red Schmidtuation is still a ways off.
    • Support the military, friends.
    • When is a hit worth a quarter of a goal?
    • Braden Holtby: Still really good at the whole being a goalie thing.
    • Chandler Stephenson is living the dream.

Joe B Twitter Game On Fleek

Joe B. has taken to Twitter this season and he’s already crushing it.

Which of these looks do you like for tomorrow? #joebsuitofthenight pic.twitter.com/hFuoztWgDt

The one on the left is the clear winner here. Hopefully he chooses wisely tonight!
