Earlier today, we published a joke post about how Alex Ovechkin, who looks to be in the best shape of his life (#abcity), is falling desperately behind because of all the super serious informal skates he’s missing at Kettler.
But here’s something that is super serious. After training today in Dynamo Moscow’s practice facility, Ovechkin took time to promote a new music video by scoring a goal on poor Sasha Gusev (Gus). The song is entitled “I Will Remember,” and it’s by Ovechkin’s friend T-Killah.
“Hi everyone, I’m Alexander Ovechkin,” the Russian machine says, unnecessarily introducing himself. “My friend T-Killah and Alexander Marshal released a new clip. It will be very interesting to watch. Bye!”
Ovechkin then throws up a pair of deuces and skates away.
The slow jam Ovi promotes features a lot of dramatic acting and words that I can confirm are 100% not English.
Accoring to Igor Kleyner, the main character seems to have died and is being buried. The whole video is shot at a cemetery. T-Killah is talking to his wife, who apparently just had a baby. It’s sort of like his ghost is rapping.
The translated chorus goes like this:
I will remember until the first grey hair
I will try to get used to falling asleep by myself
I will pray that you somewhere are having a good time
I will remember until the first grey hair
I will try to get used to falling asleep by myself
For someone better than myself to love you
Simply to love you
Like I said: super serious.
Ovechkin is scheduled to arrive in DC on September 14th.
I've been told #Caps captain Alex Ovechkin will arrive in DC on Sept 14. – He's staying in RUS a few days to take care of family obligation.
