Brooks Laich is officially off the market. You missed your chance.
The Capitals forward and his movie-star girlfriend Julianne Hough just announced the news with joint posts on Instagram saying, “We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement! #fiance #love”
Laich’s proposal comes a month after Hough let a fan in a Brooks Laich shirsey propose to his girlfriend during a Move Live Tour stop at Wolf Trap. Maybe that was a hint hint.
According to Laich, actor Teddy Sears was the one who pushed the two together.
“On set, apparently, he was talking with Julianne, and said he had recently just got married, just got back from his honeymoon, and then asked her if she’d been seeing anyone, and she said no or whatever, and I guess he was watching our hockey game at the time,” Laich told 106.7 The Fan’s Sport Junkies in February 2014.
“He always watches the game on GameCenter on his iPad,” he added. “I guess he just showed her the iPad and said, ‘Well I’ve got a guy for you,’ or something. I guess that was how it sorta started.”
The two first met in December of 2013 at a wedding reception hosted by Sears and his wife Melissa.
“He kept mentioning her name, mentioning her name, and eventually we connected,” Laich said.
Congratulations, you two.
