Scary moment, but a false alarm. First, Eric Fehr went down after a shoulder hit by Kyle Okposo, then Marcus Johansson suffered what could have been a bad injury from Cal Clutterbuck.
(Mojo’s okay now. Deep breaths, everybody.)
Late in the first period, Marcus Johansson and Cal Clutterbuck battled for the puck in Caps’ defensive zone. Clutterbuck loaded up for a big hit, but Johansson countered it. Clutterbuck fell backwards, his right leg swung up, appearing to swipe the back of Johansson’s leg.
For good measure, Clutterbuck cross-checked Johansson in the hip.
Johansson needed help getting to the locker room.
But Johansson returned for the start of the second period. According to NBC, it was “just a bruise.”
