During game three on Sunday, Washington Capitals forward Eric Fehr absorbed a clean, shoulder-to-shoulder hit from Islanders forward Kyle Okposo. Fehr, who has a history of shoulder injuries, was pressed into the boards, his right shoulder first.
He left the game. His return is questionable.
Despite the rough run, Fehr finished his shift. Only after a whistle did he make the trip to the dressing room. Islanders fans taunted him as he walked down the tunnel.
The Capitals were flustered by the play. Curtis Glencross took an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Tom Wilson challenged Okposo to a fight, despite the fact Okposo has only two in his career.
After one particular salty exchange, Pierre McGuire reported what Okposo said to the Caps bench: “You not allowed to hit in this league anymore?”
The Caps announced a return for Fehr is questionable.

Here’s hoping he’s okay. The Caps need him.
