After losing 4-2 to the New York Rangers Saturday afternoon, the Washington Capitals had to wait until after the Islanders’ game this evening to see if they would have home ice against them in the first round or not.

They WILL.

The New York Islanders fell to the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-4 in a thrilling four-round shootout, which even included a rare goal review. Cam Atkinson scored the game-winner for the Jackets after Cal Clutterbuck failed to score for the Isles in the top of round four.

The Blue Jackets Twitter account requested pizza from the Caps after the game.

Blue Jackets, you can have ALL THE BEER AND PIZZA IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW.

Late next week, there will be Playoff Hockey in the District again.
