Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin hit another milestone on Tuesday. The Russian machine scored his 50th goal– an accomplishment he’s reached six times time in his career. There are only two players in NHL history who have done it more: Wayne Gretzky and Mike Bossy, both with nine. So tonight is special– even if right now it feels like meh, just another goal from the Ovi.
Mike Green said it best:
Green on another 50-goal season: "We’re sort of immune to it now, really. We don’t expect it, but it’s amazing how he does it every year."

“Every year it’s getting harder and harder,” Ovechkin said after the game. Yet even at age 29 (when he should have already slowed down), he’s still putting up huge numbers.
Let’s enjoy this moment.
