Steve Oleksy’s Swollen Knuckles and Ripped Earlobe (Gross Warning)

Hockey players are tough; here’s another story about that.

Let’s go on a trip to PPL Center, where the Hershey Bears on Wednesday night took on the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Thirty-two seconds into the game, Steve Oleksy took a rough run from defenseman Brandon Manning.

Binky was like oh hell no and dropped his gloves. As Manning and Oleksy pawed at each other in the corner, Oleksy’s helmet came off. Manning’s stayed glued to his head.

Oleksy’s punches connected with Manning’s bucket instead of his facemeat.

The result was a grotesquely swollen hand, which Oleksy documented after the game. Hockey beautiful.

Poor Steve cannot catch a break. A few weeks ago, he took a crosscheck to the face, ripping his ear lobe in half.

(Warning: This next picture is extra gross.)

Oleksy didn’t miss any time due to the ear thing. He won’t due to the gross knuckles thing either.

How did he have the strength and pain tolerance to upload that photo to Instagram?

Hockey players, man.
