One of my favorite quotes is “if you take care of the little things, the big things will take care of themselves.” That’s why I’m bringing you this shoddy photo of the Winter Classic center ice face-off dot. The NHL game operations crew has actually created a subtractive snowflake in the blue paint.
It’s small details like this that really bring the whole event together.
Even though there’s no Alumni Game, the media got kicked out of the family skate, Obama’s not coming, and this is the most expensive Winter Classic in five years, tomorrow is going to be epic. Every detail has been mulled over for months and New Year’s Day will be the culmination of that.
