Snow Unlikely at Winter Classic, According to Amelia Segal

amelia-two-weeks-out

A few weeks ago, I did a feature on Frederick native Amelia Segal, one of NBC 4’s star meteorologists. We learned about her love of hockey and her relationship with the Caps. We learned that she’s a big nerd (I mean this in a loving way).

Now, with the blessings of NBC 4, Ameila will be providing Winter Classic forecasts for us like she’s RMNB’s own Jim Cantore.

Amelia Segal’s Forecast

In today’s video, we learn that the last time it snowed on New Year’s Day here was 1989. While that makes any precipitation likely to be rain, that just makes me think we’re due for a dusting. Amelia also gives her broad long-term prediction on what she thinks it’ll be like at Nats Park and some other #fancyweatherfacts because she’s smart like that.

Many of you might find us covering weather silly, but it is going to have a huge impact on how the game is played and how many RMNB shirts you drape over your body.

We’ll have more detailed forecasts as we get closer to the Classic. Thanks, NBC 4!

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHLPA, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
