- The Caps are playing the 21st, 22nd, and 30th ranked teams in the league this week. It’s time to get some standings points.
- The Capitals do not win in Arizona.
- It’d be nice if the Capitals spend less time on the PK than they did last time they played the ‘Yotes. I wonder if baby zebra TJ Luxmore will be calling this one.

- Mike Green is good. Brooks Orpik, well, I dunno.
- Adam Vingan actually spoke to Brooks Orpik about why his stats are bad. Orpik: “…Just looking at like shot totals isn’t a very good factor for me. It’s more of the quality of chances you’re giving up. I don’t know if they have an advanced stat for that yet.” (If you consider goals to be a measurement of shot quality, the Caps are outscored 15 to 8 during 5v5 when Orpik is on the ice.)

What You’re Missing on TV Tonight
On Agents of SHIELD, Hayley Atwell returns as Peggy Carter, which has me over the moon. Marvel, specifically showrunners Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, have taken a great actress actor in an under-appreciated role, and they’ve found her a third act in which she– and the she part is important– becomes one of the founders of this shared cinematic universe that has basically taken over storytelling in the last decade.
Stats are like a lamppost to a drunk: you’re gonna regret not paying attention to them after you crash.
