It’s Payday, Did You Get an RMNB Shirt Yet?

First: Thank you. We launched the Making RMNB Last campaign at 10 AM on Monday. By noon we had hit our fundraising goal, and by the end of the work day we had doubled it. As I type this, we’re on the verge of hitting $17,000. To everyone whose donation means that you’ve made RMNB part of your life, thank you for validating all the late hours and thanks for allowing us to do more crazy stuff in the future.

And to everyone who just wanted a t-shirt, that’s cool too.

If you haven’t donated yet, and you want to support RMNB or just get a cool shirt, now is the time. You just got paid, right?

(Sorry.)

Let me give you an idea of what the funds will make possible. We’re upgrading our desperately outdated hardware. We’re also making progress on our responsive, standards-compliant, super sexy redesigned RMNB site. We can do more podcasts and videos now, and we’ve got the capital to do more weird special projects. Next time we have to get a controversial translation verified by an expensive firm, my dog won’t have to go on the cheap dog food for six months.

The more we raise just means more cool projects we get to do on RMNB.

Ian and I were talking. We decided if we hit $20k, we’re gonna throw a party in Frederick to celebrate with all the donors who can attend. Nothing fancy, just a chance to roll (literally) with our homeys. We’ll keep you posted on that.

There have been a few questions about t-shirts and fulfillment, so lemme address those now.

  • At the conclusion of the campaign, all people who got the t-shirt as part of their perks will get an email from us. That will link you to a page where you’ll enter your shirt size.
  • We’re offering just the one shirt as a perk for this campaign. We’re getting them handprinted by a local shop, so they’ll be super-high quality. If you want a different shirt, you can always use our existing store.
  • Shirts will be available in the following sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL. (No bulldog sizes.)
  • We’ll be shipping the shirts out so that they’ll arrive before Christmas.
  • I can’t promise that folks outside the US can get shirts, but we will try to work it out on a case-by-case basis. Email me or leave a comment if you have questions.

Let me know if anything is unclear.

Again: thank for making this all worthwhile.

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHLPA, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
