Vrana during an interview with local newspaper Corren before the game.
Washington Capitals prospect Jakub Vrana scored two points in his first game back with Linkoping after being cut from Caps training camp. Vrana, who was dominant in the Champions League action before coming over to North America, got a goal and an assist as his Linkoping defeated Filip Forsberg’s former club, Leksand.
After an offensive zone takeaway, Vrana patiently walked down the right wing. Taffe was unable to receive his pass in front of the net, but the puck bounced off his stick and right to Jacob Micflikier, who put it away.
Linkoping went on a four-on-three rush, leaving Vrana all alone on the right wing. Leksand’s goalie was unable to move quick enough to stop Vrana’s one-timer.
On Saturday, Linkoping will face Farjestad on the road.
