On Friday night, Troy Brouwer scored an OTGWG to give the Capitals a 5-4 overtime win over the Bruins. It was a classic Brouwer goal, a hard slap shot from the slot to the top corner of the net.
On Sunday, Brouwer contined his hot streak with a nifty goal. In practice. Unfortunately, his teammates weren’t really paying attention, so he let them know about it. For two minutes.

While most of the team was it on its way to Montreal for Sunday’s game, I decided to trek back to Kettler (third time in three days) to catch the guys who stayed back. It was nice to see the guys practicing hard despite most of the roster and some of the coaches being absent.
Unsurprisingly, Troy Brouwer was his usual comedic self throughout the grueling session, but it was towards the end of the skate where he really stepped it up. The guys were working on a shooting drill and Brouwer came down the ice with the final attempt as the rest of the players huddled up. Brouwer scored (he’s looked real good all weekend) and then proceeded to throw his hands up in the air and holler. He then continued to skate around the huddled players and even pushed his way through the middle of the group, all while keeping his hands in the air. This continued for almost two minutes and obviously drew some laughs from the small crowd. I cannot vouch for his teammates though.
