Swedish airbrush painter Dave Gunnarsson has just released photos of Braden Holtby‘s new mask, and boy is it a beauty. Built off the design of Holtby’s bucket from last season, Gunnarrsson continued — in his words — the “old school style” of the Capitals brand.
From Gunnarsson’s Instagram page:
It´s with a great pleasure we present the latest DC mask artwork for Washington Capitals keeper Braden Holtby. It is inspired by the freedom of the american bald eagle. Me and Braden have been working together for many years, it is so exciting to be your painter and evolve your mask art from year to year. So proud to be your painter Braden! 🙂
This new design is a continuation of Braden´s previous mask design which was a great success. A mask design in old school style totally built on the foundation of the awesome logos and uniforms of the Capitals, and inspired by the freedom of the american bald eagle. It cannot be more DC than that.. #holtby #caps #washington #capitals #nhl #daveart
The painting is a treasure map of details, just what I love to create and paint, and all the DAVEART trademark effects is here of course 🙂 #holtby #caps #washington #capitals #nhl #daveart
My only question is will this be the mask The Holtbeast uses for the Winter Classic, or does he have something more complicated in store? Stay tuned! This season should have a bunch of surprises.
