Playing the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night, Washington Capitals rookie forward Tom Wilson had another one of those shifts where literally everything that could go wrong, does go wrong. He didn’t lose a skate blade this time, but his face was like a magnet for punishment.
First, Wilson knocked Devils defenseman Jon Merrill with a big hit along the boards. Unfortunately, Wilson banged his head against the glass. So it begins.
Next, Wilson dropped to the ice after taking a slap-shot puck to the face.
Finally, as Travis Zajac skated by, the Devils forward accidentally (wink) elbows Wilson in the head.

Now we know how Penguins fans feel.
Wilson would leave the ice but somehow did not miss a shift. Hockey players, man.
