Saturday was Military Appreciation Night at Jobing.com Arena. A military member sang the national anthem. Midway through the first period, the ‘Yotes game entertainment staff honored another for her service on the jumbotron. Lt. Garcia got a loud standing ovation and then something unexpected happened. Her boyfriend, standing by her, popped the question.
He went down to one knee and asked, “Will you marry me?” She was — as @DaveZorn72 tells me, “stunned.”
What her response was next is up for some debate because the Coyotes cut away during her answer.
