The Washington Capitals landed the most coveted player on the free agent market on Thursday, but captain Alex Ovechkin has been eerily silent on the matter. No one’s asked him about the signing, and we’ve gotten no hahaha welcome grabo!!)))) tweets.
That’s because Ovi, an ambassador for the 2014 Winter Olympics, is a busy dude right now. He’s back in Mother Russia with the national team touring the newly built Olympic facilities in Sochi, and he’s been documenting it on his Twitter machine (never breaks).
At 3:30pm Russian time, the team arrived in town. They checked in at the Radisson Blu Resort, then had meetings with Russian Sports apparatchiks and NHLPA reps. Later, they went to the ski resort Rosa Khutor (the location of the alpine competitions for the 2014 Olympics) and toured the facilities. That included a ride up the mountain on a lift.
Ovi’s caption translated: Sochi… going to see the Olympic venues.
Ovi’s caption translated: Near the restaurant.
Ovi’s caption translated: Our time to go up.
