Hershey Bears wear camouflage jerseys for Hometown Heroes night
Sunday, the Hershey Bears hosted Hometown Heroes night at GIANT Center. The players wore special camouflage jerseys in a salute to the United States military, which featured the Bears logo adorned with an army hard helmet. The sweaters were auctioned off after the game to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and Veterans’ Trust Fund. The evening also featured a special performance from painter Joe Everson during the national anthem as well as local soldiers participating in the ceremonial puck drop. Every fan in attendance received an American flag.
During the actual game, the Bears would lose 3-1 to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Prospect Travis Boyd scored the Bears only goal, scoring on a rebound that bounced high in the air. Vitek Vanecek had another strong game, stopping 28 of 31 shots.
