The AHL announced today that Hershey Bears forward Travis Boyd has been named to the Second All-Star Team for the 2016-17 season. The selections were made by coaches, players, and media from all 30 teams.
Boyd, a 2011 sixth-round pick, leads all Bears in points (62) and is third in the AHL in scoring. Boyd has been consistently good in his two full seasons with the Bears, scoring 16 goals and 46 assists this season. Last season, Boyd had 21 goals and 32 assists in 76 games, notching 53 points.
Boyd was also named to the AHL All-Star Game and earned his first NHL call up in February.
