Washington Nationals return home to DC, Ryan Zimmerman gets honor of walking Commissioner’s Trophy off plane
The Washington Nationals returned to Dulles Airport early Thursday evening right as a vicious cold front moved through the area. With winds gusting up to 50 MPH, the Washington Nationals were honored with a water salute from two fire trucks before de-boarding.
First baseman Ryan Zimmerman, Mr. National, was the first to emerge from the Delta flight. He held up the MLB’s Commissioner’s Trophy to a select crowd on the ground as manager Davey held up a Nationals’ American flag.
