So smooth: Blues’ Robert Thomas brings Stanley Cup onstage at Rob Thomas concert
Former Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas came to Stifel Theatre in St. Louis Sunday night to promote his new album, “Chip Tooth Smile.” And there was a Stanley Cup surprise so smooth, it might make you feel a little unwell. Rob, wanting to be lonely no more, welcomed a guest to the stage: the St. Louis Blues’ smiling, chipped-tooth rookie Robert Thomas.
The 20-year-old center, who scored six points on the Blues’ path to victory, brought the bent Stanley Cup with him. The crowd, which I’m guessing consisted of yourself or someone like you, gave Rob, Robert, and the NHL’s championship trophy a standing ovation as the pair smiled under the bright lights.
