Artist creates stunning portrait of Alex Ovechkin and son Sergei using stippling

New York-based artist Austin Natale has created a stunning portrait of Alex Ovechkin and his son Sergei. The image is from the Capitals’ pregame ceremony celebrating Ovechkin scoring 700 goals.

Using Micro pens, Austin filled in Ovi and Sergei with tens of thousands of dots. According to Austin, “the portrait took like eight hours a day for two weeks – give or take.”

Alex Ovechkin would like to bear hug you in this Caps portrait photo

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin is known for his big goals, his even bigger hits, and his penchant for never breaking. That’s why this portrait of the Russian machine from headshot day is such a treasure.

Ovi has this big cuddly smile like he’d rather bear hug you and make you a grilled cheese sandwich than play hockey and break you.
