National treasure and rabid Washington Capitals fan, Ovie The Bulldog, is retiring from doing public appearances before hockey games.
Monday’s Capitals-Golden Knights game at T-Mobile Arena will be Ovie’s last where he will be available to accept your pets and take photos with you. Ovie’s age and declining health was the reason for the change.
The Caps are getting thoroughly whomped in Arizona tonight. Rather than discuss the three goals they gave up and how the Coyotes chased Braden Holtby (who returned for the second period), let’s appreciate some good good dogs.

Several years ago, Ovie The Bulldog and his parents were forced to relocate to San Diego. But just because the pup is out in California, doesn’t mean he’s shed his allegiance to the Capitals.
Saturday after the Caps’ morning skate, Ovie posed with many of his favorite players before they bussed to the team hotel. He took pictures with TJ Oshie, Lars Eller, and Justin Williams as well as Coach Trotz.

Brooks Laich and Julianne Hough have been dating for a little over a year, and it seems to be going well despite it being a long-distance relationship– with Hough in Los Angeles and Laich in northern Virginia. Opposite coasts!
On Saturday, the couple, which I will refer to as Broolianne for the rest of this post, got to spend time together during Valentine’s Day– just because the NHL’s schedule-maker was kind to them.
During the day, Laich spent time at Hough’s home, and Broolianne took some lovely pictures for social media.
