Olaf Eller wanted to hug Lars so bad he didn’t let a plant stand in his way

As the Carolina Hurricanes bring their moms on the road this week, the Caps Dads are joining their sons for their annual Mentors Trip.

The mentors, which include dads and brothers, were welcomed by the Capitals at the hotel in Minnesota. The cutest part? When Olaf Eller spotted Lars, he was so excited to see his son that hugged him through the leaves of a large potted plant. Stop the cuteness!!

Lars Eller’s dad, Olaf, is coaching Team Denmark during the World Junior Championship

The 2018 World Junior Championship Tournament began yesterday in Buffalo, NY. This year’s tournament features two Capitals prospects (Sweden’s Axel Jonsson-Fjällby and Switzerland’s Tobias Geisser), but the WJC has another Capitals connection.

Olaf Eller, the father of Capitals forward Lars Eller, is serving as the head coach for Team Denmark.
