Friday, in the first period of Game Seven, Dallas Stars’ pest Corey Perry hit Avalanche defenseman Nikita Zadorov in the face with his stick behind the play.

The Washington Capitals opened their practice facility up for small group workouts on Thursday for the first time since the NHL instituted Phase 2 of its return to play plan Monday.
1,046 miles south, in Pembroke Pines, Florida, the team’s captain, Alex Ovechkin, skated with a group of 17 players, including former and current Russian NHLers, at Pines Ice Arena.
The ice skating rink is close to Ovechkin’s beach home near Miami, Florida.

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Ian Cole reportedly missed practice Friday at MedStar Capitals Iceplex and is likely injured after his fight with Tom Wilson.
The news was first tweeted by longtime Avalanche reporter, BSN’s Adrian Dater.
With the Colorado Avalanche fighting for the final spot in the West and the Washington Capitals trying to get Braden Holtby his 47th win of the season, Friday’s late season game took on a furious pace, full of end-to-end action. The energetic play took a scary turn about five minutes into the second period when Tom Wilson unleashed an explosive hit on Colorado defenseman Nikita Zadorov.
