Filip Forsberg Returns From Injury and Scores Goal, Assists On Game-Winner

Washington Capitals first-round pick Filip Forsberg, who recently was named to Sweden’s preliminary World Junior Championships roster, scored a goal and assisted on the game-winning tally in Leksands IF’s 4-0 victory over Karlskrona HK Wednesday. It was the prospect’s first game back from a painful hip injury that had sidelined him since November 4th.

Growing a manly mustache can be difficult if you’re an 18-year-old Swede. You’re not even through with the throes of puberty, and you’ve probably got blonde hair. Take it from a guy with experience: fair hair ≠ impressive manstache.

Washington Capitals first round pick Filip Forsberg and his best bud Jacob De La Rose are painfully aware of their facial hair shortcomings, so here’s their workaround for Movember. It involves felt!

Filip Forsberg Does Gangnam Style Dance Again, Almost Injures Himself

We almost broke the internets when we published video of Caps first-round pick Filip Forsberg dancing to PSY’s “Gangnam Style” after a 6-0 blowout by Leksands IF. It appeared to be a once-in-a-blue-moon type of celebration – something I assumed the shy Forsberg would never do again.

But since then, Leksands IF has scored six goals in three straight games, including a 6-1 mollywhopping of Anton Gustafsson’s Asplövenon on Friday. The win returned Leksands IF to the top of the Swedish Allsvenskan League.

And it brought Forsberg and teammate Martin Janolhs back to the dance floor for an encore performance.

Filip Forsberg Dances to Gangnam Style After 6-0 Win

On Saturday, Filip Forsberg‘s Leksands Idrottsförening delivered its biggest beatdown of the season defeating the Malmö Redhawks 6-0. Forsberg, who has been racking up points at a Gretzky-like pace, surprisingly didn’t get his name on the scoresheet, but he did deliver the most memorable moment of the day.

Celebrating their victory in the locker room, Viasat cameras caught the players blasting PSY’s “Gangnam Style.”

Forberg and teammate Martin Janolhs got up from the bench and perfectly executed the Gangnam Style dance. If you study this video as meticulously as I have, you’ll notice Forsberg has dance moves on par with JC Chasez in “It’s Gonna Be Me.”

Filip Forsberg Crashes the Net for Comeback Win

Though he was ranked the top European skater in this year’s NHL draft, Filip Forsberg‘s second full season with Leksands Idrottsförening has gone even better than expected. He has tallied six goals and five assists in his first 11 games of the year, and is set to nearly quadruple his point production from a year ago.

On Wednesday, Forsberg got out of what some would call a “funk.” After posting a career-high four points against IK Oskarshamn, the Washington Capitals 2012 first-round pick tallied only two assists in his next three games. Today against Bofors IK Karlskoga, Forsberg rediscovered his mojo, scoring his seventh goal of the season on a beautiful individual play.

Filip Forsberg Has Best Game Ever, Erupts for Four Points in Win

Filip Forsberg is now officially tearing it up in the Allsvenskan league. A game after his career-high, four-game, goal-scoring streak came to an end, the Caps’ prospect has had his best game as a pro, tallying four points in Leksands Idrottsförening’s 6-4 victory over IK Oskarshamn. Forsberg’s second goal of the game counted as the game-winner.

It’s another day and another goal for 18-year-old Caps prospect Filip Forsberg. The winger scored in his fourth straight game Thursday, this time to tie Leksands Idrottsförening with Sodertalje SK at two in the second period.

Caps prospect and chocolate milk endorser Filip Forsberg continued his strong start to the season, scoring a powerplay goal in his team’s shootout loss to IF Troja-Ljungby on Tuesday. His goal-scoring streak has reached three games, and Forsberg now has four points in his team’s first five games.

Filip Forsberg Stars in Swedish Chocolate Milk Commercial

On the other side of the Atlantic, the IIHF tournaments such as the World Junior Championships are a big freaking deal. Consider last year, when Caps prospect Filip Forsberg and his Team Sweden teammates defeated Russia 1-0 in overtime of the Gold Medal Game. When the team returned to Sweden, they were treated as heroes.

With attention comes fame, and with fame comes hilarious endorsement deals! Which is why Forsberg and 2012 WJC golden goal-scorer Mika Zibanejad play a prominent role in a Swedish advertising campaign for the Danish milk company, Cocio. Anaheim Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm, a top 10 pick in this past year’s draft, also participates.

Filip Forsberg Scores Goal In Second Straight Game

In his fourth game of the 2012-13 season, Caps prospect Filip Forsberg continued to show why he’s the 10th highest-rated prospect in the world, scoring in consecutive games. The 18-year-old’s goal — his second of the year — helped Leksands IF beat Almtuna IS, 3-2.
