Blues GM says that ‘like 20 percent’ of its players contracted COVID-19 before playoffs

St. Louis Blues general manager Doug Armstrong spoke to reporters on Wednesday and shared some distressing news from Phase 3 Training Camp.

According to Armstrong, 20 percent of the team contracted the coronavirus ahead of the postseason. Armstrong pointed to that issue for being one of the major reasons why the Blues could not repeat as champions. St. Louis was eliminated in the first round by the Vancouver Canucks in six games.

Doug Armstrong says Jay Bouwmeester is doing ‘very well’ after suffering cardiac event during game

St. Louis Blues general manager Doug Armstrong updated the press on Jay Bouwmeester’s condition after the longtime defenseman collapsed during the Blues-Ducks game Tuesday night. Armstrong made his comments in Las Vegas at the Waldorf Astoria hotel.

According to Armstrong, Bouwmeester’s life was saved by medical personnel at the rink. He needed a defibrillator to be revived. Armstrong immediately called Bouwmeester’s wife, who did not watch the game, and gave her updates.
