Wednesday afternoon it was announced that the 200 level at Capital One Arena will now be known as the “KETTLER Loft Level,” as part of a multi-year agreement between the development company and Monumental Sports & Entertainment. The 200 level has not had a corporate sponsor in previous years, instead being referred to simply as the “Club Level.”

The day of the Capitals’ Stanley Cup parade, construction crews inside Capital One Arena were busy tearing down the purple seats that were originally installed in 1997. The construction was part of a $40 million renovation to Ted Leonsis’s DC venue which included new seats, a facelift to the 100 and 400 levels, and upgraded concessions.
Thursday, the Capital One Arena Twitter account gave DC Sports fans a first look at the new seats.

Back in February, Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced that Capital One Arena would be undergoing a series of major renovations as part of the new naming rights with Capital One. Included in the renovations are new seats, a facelift to the 100 and 400 levels, and upgraded concessions.
With the Capitals and Wizards now in the off-season, the renovations have now begun. On Wednesday, Monumental revealed even more details on what fans can expect to see when they come to a game at Capital One Arena next season.

Capitals fans are already driving record-setting merchandise sales following the team’s Stanley Cup championship, and there’s now another opportunity to own a piece of history, with Capital One Arena announcing it is selling seats and seat cushions from the venue where some of those games were played.
Earlier this year, Monumental Sports & Entertainment — which owns the Capitals and Capital One Arena, along with the Wizards, Mystics, and other sports properties — announced plans for a $40 million renovation of the venue. The upgrades include new seats throughout the arena, and the outgoing 20-year-old seats are going up for sale.

There were Caps fans as far as the eye could see. When Jakub Vrana scored, the crowd erupted in loud cheers.
Wednesday afternoon, Caps fans sold out Capital One Arena in just a few minutes after the Washington Capitals put up tickets for a free watch party. The Caps can clinch the organization’s first Stanley Cup with a victory in Las Vegas.
According to a release from the team and first reported by the Washington Post’s Dan Steinberg, 70,000 people logged on to try and snag any of the available tickets.
To put that in perspective, that’s nearly four sold out Capital One Arenas.
Again: for a watch party, not a hockey game.
When the Capitals competed against the Lightning in the third round, Tampa Bay enforced a dress code that prevented Caps fans from wearing red at the games in Tampa. The Caps have taken this sentiment to another level throughout the playoffs, which means that Vegas Golden Knights fans are actually prohibited from buying tickets to Games Three and Four in DC.
ABC KTNV in Las Vegas reports that only fans with residency in Maryland, Virginia, and DC are able to to buy tickets to Caps home games directly through the team. Residency is established based on the purchaser’s billing address.

On Tuesday morning, the Metropolitan Police Department sent out a traffic advisory regarding road closures around Capital One Arena for the duration of the Stanley Cup Final.
With the Capitals heading home for Games Three and Four of the Final, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser disclosed more detailed street closures.

On Tuesday morning, the Capitals released Stanley Cup Final tickets to season-ticket holders via a presale. The tickets were made available in a loyalty level system, with the longest tenured ticket holders having the first time slots.
The Stanley Cup Final tickets were essentially sold out after the first time slot, with only single tickets available for Saturday’s game showing up during noon. Around 1:30, an email was sent out to ticket holders saying the presale was officially sold out.

Tuesday morning the Metropolitan Police Department sent out a traffic advisory via the AlertDC system regarding the Caps’ Stanley Cup Final run. The road closures, set from the evening of May 29th to June 11th, seem to indicate that the NHL will be setting up the area around Capital One Arena with festivities.
