Norris Trophy-winning defenseman Brent Burns is a character. The Chewbacca-looking hockey player is a dedicated dad to his two daughters, Peyton and Olivia, and son Jagger. He also is a noted animal-enthusiast, who has turned his suburban Saint Paul home into a zoo. Sure, he might play a violent sport, but as a person, he also has a lot of empathy.

That’s why when he noticed a young girl struggling to get a warmup puck stuck in the netting, Burns sprung into action to save the day.

Patrick Maroon tugs on Brett Burns’ beard because there’s no way that thing is real

Edmonton Oilers forward Patrick Maroon morphed into every hockey fan during the Oil’s game against the San Jose Sharks, Monday.

After a second period scrum, Maroon and Brent Burns became tangled behind the net. While laying on the ice, Maroon reached over to a fallen Burns and stroked his beard three times.

I know you’re probably thinking that you can’t be reading this right or I’m making it up. No, this is really an actual thing that happened in an NHL game.

After scoring 29 goals last season, Brent Burns finally scores first goal in 21st game

It finally happened.

After going goalless in the first 20 games of the season, San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns scored in game number 21. Burns found the back of the net in Las Vegas after a slap shot from the point found its way to the back of the net.

Wednesday night was a very busy day in the NHL. 30 of 31 teams were in action with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching.

Brent Burns paired with Sasquatch in new Jack Links commercials

Brent Burns is one of the biggest characters in the NHL. He is often mistaken for Chewbacca. During a recent trip to Disney World, the Sharks defenseman was asked to sign autographs after kids thought he was a pirate.

Now, because Jack Links Canada loves us, the beef jerky company has paired Burns, a huge furry beast, with an even furrier beast, Sasquatch, to make some commercial magic.

Brent Burns, Connor McDavid, and Brent Burns’ oversized personality star in new CCM ads

Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid and San Jose Sharks wookie Brent Burns are the stars of a new viral ad campaign created by CCM.

Split into three segments, the ads have a carnival theme, as the two superstars participate in activities like plate breaking and a water dunk challenge. McDavid, the league’s reigning MVP and Art Ross winner, shows off his deadly shooting accuracy while Burns’ personality steals the show.

NHL players react to Floyd Mayweather beating Conor McGregor

Floyd Mayweather TKO’d UFC double champion Conor McGregor in the 10th round Saturday night, pushing his undefeated record to 50-0. According to Sportsnet Stats, Mayweather made at least $59,347.18 per second during the victory.

Many NHL players watched the fight or attended it live in Vegas. Former Capital Daniel Winnik was at T-Mobile Arena for the event along with NHL stars Brent Burns, Joe Thornton and Evander Kane. Burns draped himself in an Irish flag.

Players, especially NHL enforcer, had strong opinions about the fight, including former Hurricanes forward Anthony Stewart who tweeted an Alex Semin bongos GIF to describe McGregor’s fading punch power late in the fight.

Brent Burns’ funny gift for Matthew Tkachuk after getting his stick stolen

Hockey fans aren’t the only ones who like collecting sticks. Players do too.

Battle of the beards: Brent Burns and Joe Thornton bare it all in ESPN Body Issue

Brent Bruns had a busy year. He put up career points with 76 (29 goals, 47 assists) and snagged himself the Norris Trophy as the league’s best defenseman. This summer, while on a visit to Disney Land, Burns was mistaken for a pirate and signed autographs for unknowing kids.

Now Burns has stripped down to appear in ESPN’s Body Issue along with his best bearded buddy, Joe Thornton.

Brent Burns signs autographs for kids at Disney after being mistaken for a pirate

Sharks defenseman Brent Burns took a trip to Disney World with his family immediately after the 2016-17 season ended. Little did the Hockey Chewbacca know, kids would be asking for his autograph, but not because he’s one of the best hockey players in the world.
