The NHL announced the player assignments for the the 2019 NHL All-Star Skills Competition being held Friday night in San Jose.
Capitals defenseman and first-time All-Star, John Carlson, will participate in the Hardest Shot Competition. Meanwhile, Braden Holtby will take part in the NHL’s Save Streak Competition.
Carlson will try to defend Alex Ovechkin’s Hardest Shot title, which the Russian machine won last season with a 101.3 MPH slap shot.
Coverage of the event begins at 9PM (EST) on NBCSN. All six events of the 2019 SAP NHL All-Star Skills™ will be individual competitions, with the winner of each event earning $25,000.
