Wednesday evening, the Washington Capitals announced the full schedule and roster for their 2018 Training Camp.
Training Camp will officially open on September 13, and be led by first-year head coach Todd Reirden. Thursday, Capitals veterans will conduct physicals and off-ice testing. On Friday, the team will have its first on ice session which is open to the public.
The Capitals roster will be once again split into three groups with Russians Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Dmitry Orlov, and Sergei Shumakov headlining Team Blue; Nicklas Backstrom and Braden Holtby leading Team White; and Andre Burakovsky and Brooks Orpik the notables for Team Red.
New additions to this year’s camp include Shumakov (a top-20 KHL point-getter), Nic Dowd, Michael Sgarbossa, and Jayson Megna.
