Last night, the Washington Capitals debuted their new third jerseys against the New York Islanders but fans quickly realized it could bring some unwanted taunting from rival fans.
After first noticing the Capitals’ W-crested alternates, Ottawa Senators fan “The Senagoth” remarked on Twitter that “Lmao I can already see people photoshopping an L on the jersey whenever they lose.”

Alex Ovechkin hit one of the biggest milestones of his career five years ago today (January 10, 2016). In front of 18,506 people at Verizon Center, Ovi scored twice in a 7-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators, including his 500th career NHL goal.
Ovi became the fifth-fastest player in NHL history to reach the 500-goal mark, doing so in his 801st career game. He trailed only Brett Hull (693), Mike Bossy (647), Mario Lemieux (605), and Wayne Gretzky (575).

Well Caps fans, it’s official.
Braden Holtby took the ice with the Vancouver Canucks for their first day of training camp on Monday after signing a two-year, $8.6 deal with the team over the offseason.
Holtby’s iconic red number 70 sweater is gone and has now been replaced by a blue number 49; Canucks forward Tanner Pearson wears number 70 with the team.
