Saturday Night Live’s Leslie Jones is an official NBC correspondent at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. On Sunday, Jones attended her first ever women’s hockey game, and the resulting commentary was hilarious.
As the game progressed, Jones came to the same conclusion that many of us do watching Team USA play. We’re all more than a little bit in love with Hilary Knight.

On Tuesday, work began on the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in preparation for the Stadium Series game. Annapolis mayor Gavin Buckley joined NHL Deputy Commissioner, Bill Daly, and US Naval Academy Superintendent, VADM Walter E. “Ted” Carter at a news conference to mark the occasion.
During the press gaggle, Mayor Buckley gave Nathan Walker a shoutout, and made a plea to the Capitals to call the Aussie back up to the big leagues. Buckley’s fondness for the first Australian in the NHL wasn’t random, however.
“I know you think I probably sound like I was born in Maryland, but I wasn’t. I am originally from Australia,” Buckley said, a little tongue-in-cheek.

During Saturday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Devante Smith-Pelly was subjected to racist taunts while in the penalty box. The fans involved in the incident were ejected from the game. Since then, several statements have been made by the NHL, Blackhawks and Capitals condemning the behavior.
Monday, per an update from Blackhawks beat reporter Mark Lazerus, those fans have been banned from future games.

In the shadow of a 7-1 loss to the lowly Blackhawks and an altercation involving Devante Smith-Pelly and four hate-spewing fans at United Center, the Washington Capitals practiced in Buffalo on Sunday.
Tom Wilson, Madison Bowey, and Barry Trotz all addressed the media about the racist incident and spoke about how they were supporting DSP.
“I went up to him and how we got your back, you know. He’s one of our teammates,” Wilson said. “He’s obviously one of my good buddies. I just told him, ‘hey dude. Let it go. We’ve got your back. It’s BS.’ Hopefully there’s some accountability for that guy, or whoever did it.”
The players and coach also addressed their disbelief on what happened and how they hope society changes.
“Like I said, there’s no room for it in sport,” Trotz said. “There’s no room for it in our country. It just brings [to] light that we’ve still got a long way to go.”

Travis Boyd had an incredible four-goal game on Friday, which helped secure a 6-3 win for the Hershey Bears over Laval Rocket. The night marked Boyd’s second AHL career hat trick and fourth career multi-point game.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, Boyd dedicated his milestone game to his daughter, Hayden.
