On Saturday, it appeared that Jakub Jerabek had scored his first goal as a Capital against his former team, the Montreal Canadiens. The Czech defenseman aimed a wrist shot on Carey Price from just outside the faceoff circle, which snuck in over Price’s catching glove.
After reviewing the goal, the NHL later determined that TJ Oshie had tipped in Jerabek’s shot. They gave Oshie credit for the tally, though he insisted he hadn’t got a piece of it in his post-game interview. “I kind of thought it was Jerry’s,” TJ Oshie said to the media. “I haven’t seen the video, but I was trying to jump and get out of the way.”
With two further days of deliberation, the NHL concurred with that assessment.
