The Washington Capitals‘ new Hometown Remix jersey may have been revealed in one of the strangest ways imaginable: a fan apparently wearing it to a game before its official release.
On Sunday, hockey uniform account Jersey Nerds shared two photographs purportedly taken at the Capitals’ game against the Minnesota Wild at Capital One Arena.
The images show a person wearing a blue Tom Wilson No. 43 jersey that closely resembles Washington’s long-rumored Hometown Remix design.
The sweater features the Capitals’ vintage Capitol Dome crest, Screaming Eagle shoulder patches, bronze-and-black striping, and marble-inspired detailing on its white accents.
The design also closely matches a rendering that went viral last week. At the time, a league source who had seen Washington’s finished jersey confirmed to RMNB that the illustration was largely accurate, though the real sweater featured more pronounced textures and slightly different numbering, which follows in the jersey shared tonight.
The photographs arrive less than 24 hours before the NHL and Fanatics are scheduled to officially unveil the Hometown Remix collection on Monday, November 2, at 10 am.
