The Baltimore Ravens had four very special guests inside M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Washington Capitals players Vincent Desharnais, Ryan Leonard, Cole Hutson, and Ilya Protas showed up to support the Ravens in their matchup against the Tennessee Titans. The four Caps skaters are fresh off their flight home from a 1-1 road trip to begin their 2026-27 regular season.
Desharnais, acting like the “fun uncle” of the three younger players, filmed a video of the four on the field for the Ravens before kickoff.
Capitals players attend Ravens game against Titans
“Hey guys, Washington Capitals here supporting the Baltimore Ravens,” Desharnais said. “Go Ravens!”
Despite being nearly a decade older than all three of his peers at the game, Desharnais is the least tenured of the four players who showed their support for the Ravens on Sunday. The 30-year-old defenseman signed a four-year contract with the Capitals in free agency this past July, while Leonard, Hutson, and Protas all made their NHL debuts with the Caps over the past two years.
Capitals players regularly show support for other local pro sports teams throughout the season, often attending games hosted by the NFL’s Washington Commanders, the NBA’s Washington Wizards, MLB’s Washington Nationals, and MLS’s DC United. Leonard, in particular, has been spotted at past Wizards games.
The Wizards also had four players in attendance at the Ravens-Titans game, including Baltimore native Bub Carrington, 2026 first-overall draft selection AJ Dybantsa, Jamir Watkins, and Felix Okpara.
The Ravens, led by superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson, jumped out to a 7-0 early lead on the Titans, with running back Derrick Henry finding the end zone on a five-yard run with 12:09 left in the first quarter. They took a 24-7 lead into halftime after kicker Tyler Loop drilled a 64-yard field goal.
Baltimore is 2-1 to start their season after stunning the Dallas Cowboys with a game-winning, last-second field goal from Loop at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, last week.
